While I was at Image Engine in 2015/2016 a dream come true project popped up on the horizon. As a fan of the Final Fantasy series, the news that I will be able to contribute to the larger Final Fantasy XV universe was exhilarating!
First model assignments were two weapons: The sword for "The Mystic" and the trident for "The Oracle".
Personal highlight was "The Wise" character, a winged knight, who is one of the "Rulers of Yore". We started from a lovely 2D concept. Eung Ho Lo did a 3D sketch in Zbrush and I took it from there to model a proper asset for production. The asset was send abroad, as the shots it would eventually appear in were not done at Image Engine.
The knight did not only appear in the Kingsglaive movie, but also in the CGI cutscene at the end of the game. I don't know for sure if the cutscene version is my asset or an alteration thereof, but since my name showed up in the game credits, I assume a good chunk of my work is still there.
Thank you Image Engine and Square Enix!
