I spend a lot of time working on Dune's Arrakeen City environment with the incredible Build team at DNEG in Vancouver. The process was a constant back and forth collaboration with the concept and environment department. We had to deliver a library of building assets, that the environment team could pick up to do their magic with. I started with blocking houses, walls, mid sized buildings etc. , before I modeled some hero buildings, which are prominent shapes in the city landscape. After that I was primarily responsible for the Arrakeen Residence, including the courtyard where the palm trees are.
